Option 1 Enhanced Inspector
Training
(More information is available at http://www.tlcinc.net
including complete Pricing and Catalog of Offerings)
The Professional Home Inspectors Institute
(PHII) offers a five-day,
60-classroom hour introductory course. Students have access to an extensive
lab with hands-on training displays of the mechanics of a house. Many
of our instructors are ASHI® certified home inspectors. This course is
$1,500 and includes the following textbooks:
- The
Professional Reference Homebook™
- This enhanced version of The
Homebook™, HomePros
reporting system, is geared to students, real estate agents,
appraisers, attorneys, lenders, and other real estate professionals.
It includes a completed report, information on all aspects of the
home inspection, personal risk items such as radon gas and asbestos,
and a listing in each section of positive things to say about various
aspects of a house. The basic perspective philosophy behind the home
inspection and home buying is also covered. This is a great, easy
to use tool for real estate professionals. They can reduce their risk
by referring to the information in this book instead of generating
it themselves. A proven winner! Over 300 pages.
-
- Home Inspections and Marketing™
- Since marketing is so interwoven throughout everything a business
does this manual will attempt to shed some light on the industry as
a whole, the conduct of individual businesses, the people in them,
the past marketing efforts and future expectations. This book is written
for all levels of home inspectors from those just entering the field
to those who are successfully running their own businesses. 100 pages.
-
- Basement Water Seepage™
- Water intrusion is always close to the top of the
problem list for houses with basements or crawl spaces. This book
thoroughly explains the causes, problems and solutions associated
with wet basements or crawl spaces. 75 pages
This course requires at least 5 days in the Washington
D.C. area; 7-9 days if the student plans to attend the optional field
training home inspections included with the class. Students are required
to furnish their own food, lodging, and transportation.
Optional Home Inspections in the
Field are included with the Class
As a bonus, students may attend up to three "live"
home inspections. Witness first-hand, the inspection protocols as they
are performed by a professional Home Inspector. Each home inspection takes
between 2½ and 3½ hours. We strongly encourage students who have not yet
attended a "live" home inspection to attend one the weekend
before attending the classroom sessions.
